용과 싸워서 공주도 구하고, 왕국도 구한 슈렉은 공주와 결혼해서 살면서 평범한 가정적인 남자가 되어 사는 자신을 발견하게 된다. 그래서 진정한 오우거가 되기를 원하는 슈렉은 Rumpelstiltskin과 마법의 계약을 맺는다. 하지만 슈렉은 Rumpelstiltskin의 계략으로 인해 모든 게 안 좋은 상황에 놓인다. 'Far Far Away'왕국은 Rumpelstiltskin이 왕이 되어 슈렉과 같은 오우거를 사냥하고 있으며, 슈렉과 피오나는 다시 만나지 못한다. 모든 것을 원래대로 돌려놓고 피오나와 사랑을 다시 얻는 것은 이제 오로지 슈렉에게 달렸다.
