소개 :	1954년 미국 버지니아주 호프웰에서 태어났으며, 켄트 대학에서 문헌정보학을 공부했습니다. 그림책, 시, 단편 및 장편소설 등 다양한 장르를 아우르며 100여 권이 넘는 책을 썼습니다. 뉴베리 수상작인 『그리운 메이 아줌마』로 널리 알려졌지만 수많은 그림책을 발표한 작가이기도 합니다. 대표작으로는 브렌던 웬젤이 그림을 그린 『삶』, 세르지오 루치에르와 함께 작업한 『고맙다고 인사해요』가 있습니다.

1948년 미국 뉴욕주에서 태어났으며, 그림책 작가이자 일러스트레이터로 폭넓게 활동하고 있다. 신시아 라일런트의 『푸터 씨와 고양이 태비』 시리즈에 처음으로 그림을 그리며 작품 활동을 시작했고, 『내가 다섯 살 때는』으로 오펜하임 토이 포트폴리오 최우수 도서상을 받았다. 대표작으로 『부바와 보우』 시리즈와 『내가 다섯 살 때는』, 『꼬마 마녀에게 애완동물이 생겼어요』, 『코즈모가 달려요』, 『멋진 친구들』 등이 있다.
